Maalaea is a quiet town located in the central part of Maui along the western ocean front.  On Hau’oli Road, east of the Maalaea Harbor, you will find 9 ocean front condominiums which are mostly vacation rentable and individually owned.  The Maalaea Beach is approximately 3 miles extending west to east and ending at Sugar Beach in Kihei and is one of the the longest stretches of white sandy beach on the island.  The Neighborhood is home to the Maui Ocean Center which is Maui’s only Aquarium.  There are also a number of restaurants and shops along the Harbor and in the Harbor Shops.  Of course, the proximity to Maalaea Harbor guarantees that you are always just a few steps away from numerous sailing excursions.

Maalaea History

Maalaea Harbor was once a commercial port and now home to the U.S. Coast Guard Station.  Maalaea is now an environmental safe haven for a number of wildlife species such as the endangered Humpback Whale which finds M aalaea Sanctuary a favorite mating and birthing ground.  During the winer months Maalaea Residents and Visitors enjoy the view of breaching whales from their Ocean View Condos.  The Green Sea Turtle can also be found amongst its reefs.  The Kealia National Wildlife Refuge is 700 acres of some of the last remaining national wetland habitat in Hawaii.
